​La Malagueta

​La Malagueta is the most famous beach in Málaga and is around 1200 metres long. The proximity of La Malagueta to the historic centre of the capital is the reason why it is full of relaxed atmosphere and sunbathing tourists at almost any time of the year. A pleasant stroll along the promenade with bars and restaurants, elegantly crowned with palm trees.

🎭 Places of interest
Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta: Opened in 1874, the bullring offers space for around 9,000 spectators and impresses with its neo-Moorish architecture. 
La Farola: This historic lighthouse from 1817 is a landmark of Málaga and offers a beautiful view of the harbour. 
Centre Pompidou Málaga: ​A branch of the Paris Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, recognisable by its colourful glass structure.

​Pedregalejo

​Pedregalejo is one of the most traditional fishing neighbourhoods in Málaga. On the beach you can see many old wooden fishing boats. These boats, together with the fact that there are no tall buildings nearby, add to the charm of Pedregalejo.1200m long, Pedregalejo beach offers a quieter and more traditional atmosphere than the busier urban beaches of Malaga such as La Malagueta. With its six small coves protected by breakwaters, it offers ideal conditions for swimming.
One of the main attractions of Pedregalejo is the large number of restaurants along the seafront promenade. Particularly recommended are the "espetos de sardinas" (sardine skewers), which are grilled directly on the beach on traditional boats. Some of the most famous restaurants in Pedregalejo are: 

Miguelito El Cariñoso: This restaurant is known for its authentic Mediterranean cuisine and fresh seafood.
Restaurante El Caleño: A traditional fish restaurant known for its excellent "espetos" and the preparation of sardines on wooden skewers in traditional fishing boats (jábegas) right on the beach.
Restaurante Merlo: Another popular restaurant, known for its excellent "espetos de sardinas" and other fish dishes.

Astilleros Nereo: One of the oldest shipyards in Spain, where traditional boats are restored. A must for maritime enthusiasts.

El Palo – ​A neighbourhood with its own heartbeat

​El Palo is more than just a neighbourhood - it is an essential part of Málaga, even if it has its own rhythm. As the easternmost neighbourhood in Málaga, El Palo is located between the beach - where fishing boats are grouped together - and the San Antón mountain, on whose slopes some of the city's most exclusive houses are located.
