The Jardín Botánico-Histórico La Concepción in Málaga is an impressive botanical garden with over 150 years of history. It was founded in 1855 by the married couple Jorge Loring y Oyarzábal and Amalia Heredia Livermore and is now one of the most important subtropical gardens in Europe. Covering an area of around 23 hectares, the garden is home to more than 50,000 plants from around 2,000 different species. The collection includes tropical and subtropical plants from Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Oceania. The variety of palm species, bamboos and aquatic plants is particularly noteworthy. The garden is designed in the English landscape style and offers numerous picturesque paths, ponds and waterfalls. A particular highlight is the viewpoint, which offers an impressive view of the city of Málaga and the Mediterranean Sea. In addition to the botanical diversity, the garden has a rich cultural heritage. Historic buildings such as the villa of the founding family, a small museum and various sculptures bear witness to the eventful history of this place.
The Jardín Botánico-Histórico La Concepción is not only a paradise for plant lovers, but also a place of relaxation and inspiration for all visitors.

Tickets can be purchased online via the official website. There are various price categories, including discounts for children and groups. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance as demand is high.
The event typically takes place from the end of November to the beginning of January. For the 2024/2025 season, the lights could be admired from 29 November to 6 January.
Along the route there are stalls offering hot drinks and snacks, including freshly roasted almonds and hot chocolate.
