MΓ‘laga is famous for its over 70 nativity scenes (belenes) displayed throughout the city β from small chapels to museums.
Municipal Nativity Scene (City Hall)
Located in the courtyard of the Town Hall, this giant nativity features thousands of figures and even local elements such as La Farola lighthouse or the caves of Nerja. Free entry until January 6.
Cathedral Nativity Scene
A monumental 68 mΒ² display with handcrafted figures and Andalusian landscapes β a true work of art.
Also visit: the Student Brotherhood Nativity Museum, live nativity scenes, and the underwater nativity at Sea Life BenalmΓ‘dena.
Tip: pick up the official "Nativity Route" map at the tourist office or online. Most are open mornings and late afternoons; free or donation-based.
Pastorales (Folk Carollers)
Traditional groups dressed in rustic costumes sing Andalusian carols through the streets β a heartwarming and spontaneous Christmas tradition.

Zambombas flamencas fill MΓ‘laga's plazas β FΓ©lix SΓ‘enz, Plaza de la Merced, the Soho district β with passionate Christmas songs in flamenco rhythm. No tickets needed; just enjoy the music.

Programme (from December 20):A stage at Plaza de la ConstituciΓ³n hosts gospel choirs, the youth orchestra, jazz, swing and children's choirs. All free and open-air.
For a more intimate atmosphere, visit the Advent concerts in local churches, especially the Candlelight Concert in the Cathedral (around Dec 22β23).
