Tapas tour in Rincón de la Victoria – Our route through the Ruta de la Tapa 2025
This week, we were in Rincón de la Victoria to experience the Ruta de la Tapa 2025 for ourselves. The municipality is celebrating the route this year from 14 to 23 November 2025 – with over 40 participating restaurants in all districts: Rincón de la Victoria, La Cala del Moral, Torre de Benagalbón and Benagalbón.
The framework is clearly defined:
- Each participating location offers a tapa at a standard price of €3.50, including a caña, soft drink or water.
- There is a digital and printed tapas route linked to Google Maps so that guests can plan their tour in a structured way.
For us, this was the ideal opportunity to check out the quality of this year's edition first-hand. Our own route included four selected establishments – in the order in which the evening organically unfolded:
- El Muro
- La Chiflá
- La Piarda Playa
- Liceo Playa (Liceo)
El Muro – 'Bomba' to start with
We started at El Muro on the Paseo Marítimo Virgen del Carmen in Torre de Benagalbón.
The official tapa of the route is a kind of 'bomba': crispy on the outside, tender tinga-style chicken on creamy mashed potatoes on the inside. In short: comfort-oriented tapas cuisine with a modern touch, perfect as a starting point for the evening.
La Chiflá – Cochinita style in the centre
The second stop was La Chiflá on Avda. del Mediterráneo in Rincón de la Victoria.
Here, the focus is on a taco: slow-braised pork in Cochinita style, served with guacamole, a fresh acidic component and pickled onions. The tapa combines Latin American influences with the local tapas culture – exciting, but not over the top, very accessible to a wide audience.
La Piarda Playa – Bao buns right by the sea
The third stop was La Piarda Playa, also on Avda. del Mediterráneo, right on the beach in Rincón de la Victoria.
The route tapa is a filled bao bun with crispy chicken, a slightly spicy 'Japanese'-inspired sauce and a hint of lime mayo. The result: street food style, but cleanly executed – ideal for those looking for something trendier without sacrificing substance.
Liceo Playa – A fine finish with a focus on vegetables
To round off our tour, we headed to Liceo Playa on Playa de la Marina in Torre de Benagalbón.
The tapa is an elegant combination: artichoke with a creamy sauce, root vegetables and a hearty accent (butifarra sausage). Overall, it is much more refined and 'restaurant-like' than classic bar tapas – an ideal way to end the evening.
Tapaporte & competition – How it works in 2025
The Tapaporte mechanism is also clearly structured:
- You can get a Tapaporte at one of the participating restaurants or at the tourist office.
- You need four stamps from four different restaurants in at least two different districts (e.g. 2x La Cala and 2x Rincón, or 3x Torre and 1x Benagalbón).
- All fields must be stamped, and you must also enter your details and vote for your favourite.
- Put the completed tapaporte in one of the boxes in the participating establishments by 23 November.
All valid tapaportes will be entered into a draw for 5 vouchers worth €200 each, which can then be redeemed in the participating restaurants until 28 February 2026.
At the same time, there are prizes worth a total of £3,700 for the restaurants, which will be awarded by a jury of experts from the catering and food communication industries.
